Day 200

22 Jan

Finally the scaffolding has come down and for the first time we see the finished external render in all its loveliness. Outside the house has been tidied up and cleaned and looks ready to move in. Unfortunately we’re still waiting for the ESB (Electricity Supply Board) to connect us to the grid, so we can turn on the heating and finish off the inside. But we’re hoping that’ll be done next week.

In the mean time, here are a few pictures taken today!

    Brilliant Guys!!

So exciting…. I keep thinking of how yoo’re just waiting to do the last few bits and then you get to move in….

I have the image of all the bits of your new kitchen stacked up in the other house!!! Must be weird!

    Thinking of you all lots,

    big sis!

It is very exciting! Though we might only get in at the end of March now! It’s a small time to wait!

The last part of any build is the longest. I remember waiting for them to finish our house. It seemed endless. We rushed the sag list process a bit too much though so had to finish off some bits ourselves instead so try to be patient. It is better to have it done right!

The different shapes of the windows are really beautiful. I especially love the view from the corner where you can see loads of windows.

So looking forward to coming to visit you in your new home.

It seems to be dragging on for ages now!! Though we’ve had a big delay, waiting for the ESB to come and connect the house to the grid. Once that happens there’ll be a lot of activity again.. We’re trying our best to be patient. Thankfully the builder and painter, screed guy and floor company all feel we should wait before doing any more.. till the house is completely dry.. It’ll be a better finish if we do!!

I love all the windows too, but there are a few I think I’d have made a little bigger!
We also can’t wait to have you all visit!! So lovely to see you at the weekend!
