Day 55 – Drying out!

25 Aug

It feels like I haven’t posted anything in weeks.. but I just checked and its only been two days!!!

There was a tangible joviality about the site today. The builders were in great mood, despite the pouring rain! The roof is done, the builders paper is on and now the house is drying out. That was what the builders have wanted to achieve since day one. Now the timber can dry out and the builders can relax and take a breather. At least for a few minutes. Now the rush is to get the place ready for the windows!

The windows are due to arrive next Wednesday from Latvia. If they’re on time, the house will be sealed in just over a week!! Over the next few days the internal structure of the roof will be completed and the upstairs intermal walls will be built. At the moment the upstairs is closed off and dark. Most of the windows are covered, so its a little gloomy up there at the moment.

Here are some pictures from the last three days!

It took me hours to go through the majority of your blog entries.Very interesting and educational. While reading I was simultaneously saying to myself, “Why wreck herself, while the construction is a wrecking activity itself?”. But in writing there is peace, joy , relief, admiration, opportunity and what have you . Most importantly, there is a future. I hope to read these blogs collected and published -a book.
Surly, it will be a profitable one.

Yes you’re right. Sometimes it can be exhausting to write after a long day, but as you said, there is peace, joy and all those things. This is a dream come true and something I’m sure I’ll only do once in my life.. so want to record every step! A profitable book would be great!! 🙂

Almost too fast to keep track.. It’ll all slow down now as the internal work starts. There won’t be such obvious changes I’m told!! Can’t wait till ye come visit!

Hi Big Sis, yes I do try to take pictures when the weather is good, but I guess when its raining I’m also less likely to take the camera out, in case it gets wet. But the weather here has been very changeable, as one picture in the last batch shows!! We’re getting heavy downpours and then it brightens up. I guess I like to show the sunny side of life!!
